(If you do not wish to receive this blog, please let me know.)

Dear Friends,

We need to keep looking for good news in all of this chaos. Lean on your faith in God, friends, and family.

GOOD NEWS IN DIFFICULT TIMES
Although covid-19 cases and deaths are still on the increase, there are some positive stories in the news.
• Manufacturers are making test kits in such a way that people can self-test without getting within six feet of the tester, thus saving on personal protective equipment (PPE – gloves, facemasks, etc.)
• A 103-year old woman in China has become the oldest person to recover from the virus.
• According to a Mar 13 news report, Apple has been able to re-open all 42 of its Apple stores in China.
• According to a Mar 17 report, one medical center in Cleveland is now working with a lab that can have test results in two hours.
• According to a Mar 17 article, the number of new cases in South Korea have dropped dramatically. The rest of the world is reviewing their methods. South Korea hit its daily peak of new cases on Feb 29 and is now on the down slope. They did not use extensive lockdowns, but instead did an extremely high number of tests (5,200 tests per million population, compared to the U.S. 74 tests per million), contact tracing, and case isolation.
• Many biotech companies are working on a vaccine, some with what sounds like positive results. But more testing is, of course, still required.
• Some health care experts are pushing for treatment of coronavirus using antibodies from the blood of recovered patients.
• According to a Mar 14 report, some biologists in the Netherlands think they’ve found an antibody for the coronavirus; but months-long testing on humans has yet to been done.
• According to a Mar 24 report, the coronavirus is not mutating significantly as it circulates through the human population. That’s good news.

FROM SOME PEOPLE WHO RECEIVE THIS BLOG
• One Deacon shared this article – about parish collections when there’s no passing of the plate at church – https://www.osvnews.com/2020/03/20/without-weekly-collections-parishes-facing-financial-stress-amid-the-pandemic/
• One person passed on some words that have been going around in social media. Food for thought:
In three short months, just like He did with the plagues of Egypt, God has taken away everything we worship. God said, “you want to worship athletes, I will shut down the stadiums. You want to worship musicians, I will shut down Civic Centers. You want to worship actors, I will shut down theaters. You want to worship money, I will shut down the economy and collapse the stock market. You don’t want to go to church and worship Me, I will make it where you can’t go to church”
“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Maybe we don’t need a vaccine, Maybe we need to take this time of isolation from the distractions of the world and have a personal revival where we focus on the ONLY thing in the world that really matters. Jesus.
If you believe this, copy and share. Start the revival in your home……Spread the Love of Jesus.

SOME GOOD SCRIPTURE VERSES
• “Our help is in the name of the Lord …” Ps 124:8
• “… everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
The writers of the Holy Scriptures had hundreds of names and descriptions for God. While in a crisis, let’s meditate on some of them:
• “able to help those who are being tested” (Heb 2:18)
• “an ever-present help in distress” (Ps 46:2)
• “believed in throughout the world” (1 Tm 3:16)
• “close to the brokenhearted” (Ps 34:19)
• “does not willingly afflict or bring grief to human beings” (Lam 3:33)
• “freed us from the raging flame” (Dan 3:88)

Dear Lord, please help the world defeat this coronavirus!

Be calm! Stay well! God bless us all!
